I first became interested in fighting food insecurity as a volunteer for an NYC community fridge initiative. Through this experience, I became acutely aware of the issue and its impact on people's lives. As someone who has a gluten allergy, I understand how important it is to have safe and nutritious food options available.
My sister, Gemma Levy, is a member of the Securing Safe Food Team and has always told me how amazing this organization is. She had a similar passion for allergy awareness, and I saw how fulfilling it was for her to be part of such an important cause.
I decided to follow in her footsteps and join Securing Safe Food as a volunteer. Through my work with the organization, I hope to make a positive impact on the lives of those who are struggling with food insecurity, especially those with food allergies.
